About
Intermediate Showmanship builds on Beginner showmanship by having shorter distances on transitions, more intricate manuevers such as backing and 360 degree spins, as well as having harder lines coming into the judge. Addtionally, there are some "trickier" starts with the showman needing to start their pattern by standing on the right side of the horse to await the judge's signal due to where the judge is positioned in the the pattern. Make sure that you are proficient at the basic set up (can get it done in 5 steps or less), can back your horse without the aid of the rail , and have started teaching the spin past the 180 degree point (half turn) as well as being able to trot off within a step or two of walk.
