Intermediate Horsemanship Patterns

  • 8 Steps

About

Intermediate Horsemanship patterns is designed to be taken after the Beginner Horsemanship as well as the Beginner and Intermediate Bending Courses as you will need these skills for the pattern work given. This course builds in difficulty with more lead changes, turns on haunches, and straight line departures. You, as the riders, need to be able to tell your leads without looking down and your horse should be fairly collected in all of its gaits. The goal of the course is to start fine tuning the details to prepare you for a full season of horsemanship patterns at the local level, possibly attending a state competition for 4H at the intermediate age group, or starting to prepare to show at the youth/amateur level 1 in AQHA regional shows.
